General information papers and abstracts

Call for contributions 


For this edition of EWG-IE and EWG-OOE, contributions are invited in three formats:

  1. Extended abstracts of 2 pages max
  2. Conference paper of 10 pages max
  3. Academic journal paper.

1+2: Extended abstracts and conference papers will be reviewed by members of the scientific committee. Accepted contributions will be published as a PDF at the start of the meetings. Please follow the provided template: Template EWGIOOE2026 20250909 and fill in the consent form: Consent_form_EWGE_2026.docx

3: Academic journal papers are intended for publication in the joint thematic series of the Diamond Open Access journals Journal of Coastal and Hydraulic Structures (JCHS) and Journal of Coastal and Riverine Flood Risk (JCRFR). The abstract will be included in the proceedings under the name of ‘“abstract for the presentation: ”. Please provide us with the (draft) abstract using the above template before the deadline of February 11, 2026, AND follow the additonal instructions below.

Authors may choose to submit to either JCHS or JCRFR. The manuscript must be submitted in its final formatting. Templates and submission details are as follows:

Please indicate upon submission in the 'notes to the editor' that you submit to the Thematic Series on the European Working Groups on Erosion (adding another optional box is not possible for these journals because of long-term absence of a key person).  

At the start of the meetings, the proceedings (in PDF) will be available with the provided revised papers (or abstracts) for the usual track, while for the journal track an abstract will be provided with a specific link to the paper on the journal's website.

MODIFIED Key dates for contributions:

First submission: 11th February 2026

Notification of acceptance: 31st March 2026

Deadline for revised submission (extended abstract and/or conference paper): 10th May 2026
